Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by using physical touch, joint mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, and movement & lifestyle advice.
We take a holistic view of the structure and function of the body to diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions. Our work is centered on the principle that the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues of an individual need to function smoothly together so as to maintain wellbeing.
No two issues or injuries are the same, so our treatments are tailored to your unique case. Our aim is to understand why a particular area is painful or not functioning optimally.
By taking the time to really talk to you during a detailed case history it is possible to understand why your body has chosen its particular strategy to function, even if it is a strategy that may be causing you discomfort. By understanding the 'why' it is possible to creating a long lasting solution.
We aim to restore bodily equilibrium through increasing the mobility of joints, relieving muscle tension, enhancing blood and nerve supply to tissues, and encouraging an individual’s own healing mechanisms.
Our focus is on dis-ease prevention and improvement of health and wellbeing to maximise the potential for individuals to live full and active lives within their family circles, social networks, education and/or the workplace.
In the UK, Osteopathy is a health profession regulated by UK law, and Osteopaths are Allied Healthcare Professionals.
Hi, I'm Cheryl. I graduated from the world-renowned European School of Osteopathy and have over 16 years of clinical experience.
I love to empower people to improve their health & wellbeing through simple & achievable lifestyle adjustments, and have a passion for movement-as-medicine and stress management for improved health.
I have a deep understanding of pain science, and how not all pain is due to pathology or disrupted anatomy, no-matter what x-rays or MRIs might show.
The role of stress and trauma in the experience of persistent pain is not widely known (or taught!) - I love to teach people about the fascinating connection of body and mind, and how stress and unresolved trauma may be playing a critical role in maintaining dis-ease and discomfort. I incorporate hands-on therapy, movement therapy, and teach somatic (body) as well as cognitive (brain) techniques to help your body-mind feel safe enough to reduce the stress/ pain cycle.
With lived experience of how stress and trauma can result in persistent pain and poor pelvic health, I understand first-hand the connection between mind and body, and how to recover and find health again.
Because of this experience I discovered a passion for womxn's* health and set about a learning as much as I could! I'm now a Certified Mummy MOT® practitioner and hold a post-graduate diploma in Women's Health Osteopathy.
Having trained extensively in pre- & post-natal and pelvic floor movement therapy (Body Ready Method® & Restore Your Core®), and currently training to become a Perinatal Corrective Exercise Specialist, I'm confident in guiding you towards a stronger, more functional body.
I'm here to give womxn their confidence back by compassionately accompanying them through recovery - everything from pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse to diastasis recti and painful sex.
*Inclusivity is important - for this reason I have used the term 'womxn' instead of 'woman/women'.
Hi, I'm Baye, and I graduated with distinction from the European School of Osteopathy in 2019, and have had the opportunity to work in many different specialised fields since then.
I had the amazing opportunity to work with the Canadian Olympic Ski Cross team during one of their World Cup seasons; I have worked at a clinic that specialises in cranial osteopathy; and I have spent the last 2 years working with orthopaedic patients during their post-op rehabilitation (including total knee, hip and shoulder replacements; ACL reconstructions; and spinal decompressions; etc.) at KIMS Hospital.
I treat all areas of the body, but have a particular speciality in foot, ankle, and gait (walking) issues. I enjoy working with any patient motivated to get back to better health and better movement, regardless of age and activity background. I also enjoy treating babies and children; they're adorable!
My treatments usually include a combination of cranial and structural approaches, as well as exercises to either strengthen and/or mobilise the body.
I enjoy empowering patients during their recovery process by teaching them about their bodies and why we are doing what we are doing.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of you in clinic!
Bee graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2023 and since then has worked as an Osteopath in New Zealand. Bee is originally from Folkestone and is so pleased to be back in the UK and able to offer Osteopathy to her community.
Bee also teaches yoga, breathwork, and meditation. She loves how the philosophies of both Osteopathy and Yoga align in a way that understands the importance of the collaboration of every facet of our being as humans.
Registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy, Bee works using a structural, visceral and cranial, and functional approach within her Osteopathic practices.
Outside of practice Bee loves visiting new places, spending time in nature, meditation and yoga, saunas, sea swimming, dancing to music and being with her friends.
Feeling inspired by human connection, Bee feels it is valuable for everybody to experience this, which is something she brings into the treatment room, is the space for her patients to be heard as much as she can facilitate.
Up to half of all post-natal people experience dysfunction in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy, and up to a third still have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth.
This can lead to difficulties feeling comfortable doing everyday activities, such as walking, bending, or carrying, and even be the cause of pelvic/back pain, and bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction.
These conditions are treatable, and should not be something you should just put up with as a result of having a baby.
It’s recommended that women have an initial assessment after their 6-8 week GP check, but we also treat women who gave birth years ago that may still have a tummy gap or related pelvic floor issues.
Your 75 minute assessment will include:
Body Ready Method® (BRM) Pros are certified in the leading approach to preparing for a more functional pregnancy, your desired birth and beyond.
Helping you with aches and pains, preparing for a VBAC, a smoother transition to postpartum, and more.
Cheryl will assess your posture, movement patterns, and will talk with you about how daily activities may be adapted to better support you throughout your pregnancy.
As well as hands-on treatment, specific movements to promote better mobility through your upper body, pelvis, and pelvic floor will be taught, and Cheryl can discuss with you how to help address any delays during your labour.
Restore Your Core (RYC) Pros have a deep understanding of how your current movement patterns may be contributing to poor pelvic health, to a diastasis recti, or to discomfort and pain.
I am trained to assess how you move, how to help you find more optimal patterns of movement, and how to teach you to support your core and pelvic floor during physical activity.
I can teach you how to:
- Have a functional core so that your movements do not place undue strain your body or cause you to compromise when you exercise.
- Strengthen your body effectively and efficiently in order to be able to workout with great results and move without compensation.
- Understand, activate, and strengthen your pelvic floor so that sneezing, running, jumping and coughing do not cause you to leak.
- Learn exercises to improve your diastasis recti, strengthen your core and improve your pelvic floor function.
LPG Endermologie can help with scars by promoting circulation and increasing collagen production in the skin. The deep tissue massage and suction provided by the machine can help to break up scar tissue, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the production of new collagen, which is essential for healthy skin.
Collagen is a protein that is found in the skin and connective tissues, and it plays an important role in wound healing and skin regeneration. By increasing collagen production, LPG Endermologie may help to improve the texture and appearance of scars.
As well as scar tissue reduction, LPG Endermologie can also help with the symptoms of endometriosis.
For most surgeries, it's recommended to wait at least 4-6 weeks before undergoing LPG Endermologie or any other type of massage therapy. This allows sufficient time for the incision site to heal and for any swelling or inflammation to subside.
(It's important to note that results may vary depending on the severity of the scar and other individual factors.)
